Our KinderCare program offers a gentle, nurturing space where young children can begin and end their days feeling safe, supported, and deeply cared for. With warm guidance from compassionate YMCA staff, little ones enjoy playful exploration, comforting routines, and moments that spark wonder and confidence. KinderCare is a place where children can grow at their own pace, make new friends, and feel truly at home.

2026-2027 School Year & Summer 2026
We are now accepting families to join the KinderCare waitlist for the upcoming school year.
By joining the waitlist, we cannot guarantee the availability of spots at the time you join. What it will do is place you in the queue. When a spot becomes available, you will be contacted and asked to confirm if you still need the spot you requested by joining the waitlist.

FAQ
What does KinderCare offer?
KinderCare includes:
- Before and after school care on kindergarten days
- Care on days children are not registered for kindergarten
- Full-day care on non-school days, PD days, and school breaks
Can I receive government assistance for KinderCare fees?
The Affordability Grant applies to children registered in our full KinderCare program. At this time, the parent portion of the fee is $326.25 per month, subject to change based on government funding adjustments. Parents do not need to apply for this funding, the program applies on behalf of spaces that are occupied.
Do you offer summer care for KinderCare children?
Children who have completed kindergarten are still considered kindergarten-aged until they officially begin Grade 1 in September. If spaces become available in our summer program, we are happy to offer them to families on our waitlist.
Where does my kindergarten child go before and after school on kindergarten days?
If your child attends West Coulee or St. Kateri, they will attend the YMCA before and after school program located within their school on the days they attend kindergarten.
Where is YMCA KinderCare located?
YMCA KinderCare is located at the Cor Van Raay YMCA.
Do you offer food?
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing healthy lunches and snacks to support their child throughout the day. Staff provide designated eating areas and supervision during meal and snack times.
At the YMCA of Lethbridge, we respect and protect your privacy. With your consent, we will gather only the minimum personal information necessary to register you and your families in our programs and to provide you with appropriate information about our programs and services. We will not sell, exchange, lend or make available to other organizations any personal information that you have provided to us. All personal information will remain confidential. We have safeguards in place to protect all personal information whether in print or electronic.
