About Round Street
Round Street ELCC Childcare, located within the Melcor Centre, offering licensed childcare for children 12 month- Kindergarten.
Our team consists of 13 full time certified Early Childhood Educators and our Centre Manager. Our Educators will take on the role of a play partner, while also demanding professional integrity and responsibility, and reflective, relationship-based practice.
The environment in our child care centres are stimulating, yet home-like, including natural light and living things. While focusing on small groups, the children will engage in a flexible schedule with materials and activities that are developmentally appropriate.
Playing To Learn
YMCA Early Learning and Care programs are designed to nurture the development of your child in all areas through our YMCA Playing to Learn™ curriculum.
Playing to Learn encourages engagement, social interaction, imagination, a joy of learning, and will nourish the connection between learning and play, as well as your child’s holistic development and wellbeing.

Your child will be encouraged to engage with their environment in all seasons for a minimum of one hour per day (weather depending).
This open-ended play environment provides your child an opportunity to engage in free and unstructured play in a natural setting. When children are encouraged to explore without intrinsic goals, they become problem solvers, gain confidence, and learn to collaborate.
Communication and Insight
Gaining deeper insights into your child’s unique interests, needs and abilities is easier than ever with Storytime.
It is a secure and private app which allows educators to post updates on your child’s day complete with photos and videos, learning and development stories, newsletters, notices as well as communicate important news to you in real time.
Snacks and Menus
Your child receives nutrition lunch and snacks on a menu rotation that is available to parents.
