Summer Dryland & Sport Training

Interesting in building your fundamentals, foundation, and fitness/sport base? Look no further then the YMCA Summer Dryland & Sport Training page. Here you will find activities and sport programs for youth looking to get coaching in sport as well as fitness and dryland coaching. Youth will build their overall athleticism through training in flexibility, warm ups, cooldowns, dynamic and static stretching, sport specific skills, physical literacy, confidence, coordination, and passion for sport.

*Programs may vary on length so be sure to check your program dates, times, and cost.*


In order to receive member pricing, the membership must remain in effect for the duration of the program.  Should the participant cancel their membership prior to the end of the program, the YMCA of Lethbridge requires the participant to pay the difference between the member and the non-member pricing to continue in the program.

Basketball + Dryland Training (12-18Y)

Come Join us for a great week of Basketball and Dryland Training! 

This program is the perfect hybrid training for any athlete looking at improving their overall skill and fitness related to basketball. By involving skills, gameplay and basketball related fitness training we aim to help develop weaknesses and build a stronger foundation of strength and confidence when playing basketball.  

Schedule: ages 12-18 

Monday – Gym 3  

Tuesday – Studio 3 

Wednesday – Gym 3 

Thursday – Studio 3 

Friday – Gym 3 

*This program will last from 5:45-7:45pm Monday-Friday on varying weeks through the summer. Be sure you are signing up for the week(s) and time wanted.

Ninja Camp(ages 10-15)

In this camp we will explore ways in which we can improve our strength, balance, and control within fitness. By engaging with various forms of exercise that help those core areas the goal is to build our confidence and precision within individual movement. Just like a Ninja it is important to be strong and agile and we will help introduce ways to have fun and learn the best Ninja skills possible.  
    • What we will do: 

      • Single leg strengthening  

      • Core and balance work  

      • Flexibility training  

      • Speed and precision  

      • Bodyweight movements 

      • Teamwork games  

      • Accuracy work 

      • Obstacle Courses

Soccer + Dryland Training (12-18Y)

Come Join us for a great week of Soccer and Dryland Training! 

This program is made for athletes who want to improve their overall Soccer abilities. By focusing core skills, games and fitness training this camp looks to help build a more structured and competent athlete. We will work on individual skill within Soccer along with their strength and coordination to overall improve their game.  

Schedule: ages 12-18 

Monday – Gym 3 or Outside  (5:45-7:45pm)  

Tuesday – Studio 3  (3:00-5:00pm)  

Wednesday –  Gym 3 or Outside  (5:45-7:45pm)

Thursday – Studio 3  (3:00-5:00pm)  

Friday –  Gym 3 or Outside  (5:45-7:45pm)

(Use of gym space or outside is dependent on weather) 

*Note that Monday, Wednesday and Friday the time is 5:45-7:45pm (Gym 3). While Tuesday and Thursday the times are 3:00-5:00pm (Studio 3) for the dryland portion. Be sure you are signing up for the week(s) and time wanted.

Superhero Training Camp(Ages 9-12)

Superhero Training Camp will be a fun inclusive way to engage kids in mixing in fitness related activities with a focus on the superhero lifestyle. This camp will involve educating and engaging with various forms of exercise and games to promote a healthy lifestyle but also to help motivate kids through the use of the superhero’s. This camp would be designed to build a strong foundation of fitness, teamwork, communication and engagement. The structure would follow a mix of games and activities in the Gymnasium, outside and in the Fitness Centre. By involving the kids in these different areas, the hope to keep engagement and participation as high as possible. The goal for this camp would be for kids to come out of it learning how different forms of fitness and activity can be fun and engaging and that there is always a way to get moving.  

Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
