Youth Fitness Programs
Our youth programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of youth. It is split into three age categories age 8-11, 12-15 and 14-18. All programs will improve fitness, strength, and conditioning. Our 45 minute class will incorporate functional movements, body weight and mobility to build stronger healthier bodies focusing on proper body mechanics and great technique. Learn to Lift introduces resistance training to learn to use weights safely and effectively.

To secure your place in this program, payment is due at the time of registration. If you are unable to make a full payment at the time of registration, please contact our Membership Services department by calling 403-942-5757 or by email us at [email protected].
In order to receive member pricing, the membership must remain in effect for the duration of the program. Should the participant cancel their membership prior to the end of the program, the YMCA of Lethbridge requires the participant to pay the difference between the member and the non-member pricing to continue in the program.
Cancellation Policy: In order to receive a full refund, the YMCA of Lethbridge requires cancellations to be made at least 7 days prior to the program start date. Should the participant cancel within the week before the start date, cancellations will be prorated. Prorating is depending on time before program start date.
Functional Fitness & Mobility (Ages 8-11Y)
This class will include:
Dynamic Movements: high knees, butt kicks, leg kicks, pendulum kicks, lateral hops, bodyweight squats and hinge work in a variety of activities.
Bodyweight exercises: to focus on balance, coordination and mobility required to begin developing more strength.

Learn to Lift (Ages 12-15Y)
Learning to lift weights with proper technique and attention to form is the primary focus of this program. Exercises such as squats, deadlifts, shoulder work, bicep, triceps, lunges will all be taught from the basics progressing throughout the program.
